2024-2025

The Secretariat Team

Millie Lee
Secretary-General

Hello everyone,

My name is Millie Lee, a junior at Shanghai American School Puxi Campus, and it is my utmost honor to serve as the Co-Secretary General for SHMAUN Lite.

My MUN journey began in middle school and continues to this day. The iteration of conferences have offered me the invaluable opportunity to experience the unique rhetoric and professional style that MUN embodies, allowing me to grow from a terrified delegate to serving as a chair in various committees, and now becoming a proud member of the Secretariat team.

The MUN program acts as a platform for all delegates to foster a wide spectrum of skills while debating about current-day, pressing global issues. Regardless of delegates’ experience levels, I sincerely hope that this conference will become a trailing memory for all delegates. With all of your efforts, I am confident that this conference will shine light on the issues concerning us today.

Looking forward to seeing you all in April!

Michael Mushinski
Secretary-General

Dear all,

My name is Michael Mushinski, a junior at Shanghai American School Puxi, and it is my great privilege to serve as the Co-Secretary General for SHAMUN Lite. Ever since joining MUN in freshman year, and through a multitude of conferences in China and the world, the program has been an integral part of my high school experience - from encountering new peoples and cultures to honing my communication skills and tackling modern society’s most exigent geopolitical and socioeconomic issues.

SHAMUN Lite provides an opportunity for those of you who find themselves in my younger self’s shoes: new to MUN, a little intimidated, and perhaps deathly anxious of public speaking, but nonetheless eager to dive head first into an exciting experience. I promise we will ensure the same wonderful experience at SHAMUN Lite that first blossomed my love for MUN.

It is my honor to serve as your Co-Secretary general! See you in April!

Kelly Lee
Deputy Secretary-General

Greetings chairs, delegates, directors, and staff,

My name is Kelly Lee, a senior at Shanghai American School Puxi, and I am truly honored to serve as the Deputy Secretary General for SHAMUN Lite II. I have been involved in MUN for the past 6 years of my middle and high school career, and it is with utmost excitement that I welcome you to this year’s SHAMUN Lite.

MUN in its own is a very special program that allows delegates to acknowledge and pojnder various international issues that are present in our time - I have been privileged to experience these chracteristics throughout the past 22 conferences that allowed me to grow as a delegate, chair, and a member of the secretariat for the past 6 years.

With this year’s SHAMUN Lite being much more special as an opportunity not only for delegates but also for our junior officers to take over the next generation of SHAMUN, I am truly excited to welcome all those invited to build a memorable moment in our MUN careers together.

Looking forward to seeing all of you in April!

Alexander Zhou
Deputy Secretary-General

Dear all,

I’m Alexander Zhou, a senior at Shanghai American School Puxi Campus, and it is my honor to serve as your Secretary-General.

I had a late start in the realms of public speaking - having only attended my first MUN conference in the second semester of my freshman year, I was always amazed at the mental acuity and professionalism younger delegates have demonstrated. Every year, SHAMUN serves as a platform of many firsts – for many, SHAMUN is their first conference ever; for half of our student officers, SHAMUN would be their first chairing experience; historically, SHAMUN is also one of the first conferences to incorporate the Crisis Committee and the International Court of Justice. For every past iteration, the Secretariat has worked tirelessly to ensure that we live up to those firsts, and I sincerely hope that SHAMUN XXIV would continue to empower delegates to challenge their comfort zones.

See you all in October!
