    Emma Z.

“Esteemed delegates, student officers, and directors, welcome to SHAMUN XXII! I am Emma and it is my honor to serve as one of your Deputy Presidents for the Historical Security Council. I started MUN in the sixth grade and over the years I have been shaped by the various conferences I have been to and by the unique delegates, chairs, and directors who have mentored me along the way. I learned not only about the global issues affecting our society, but also about who I am as a person and how I could make an impact on the world. I have attended a total of eight conferences, in which I have collaborated with many others to make the conferences educational and enjoyable. I hope I could use my experiences and the knowledge I have gained from them and pass them on to other passionate delegates. This conference will be my third time chairing, therefore, I promise to help delegates throughout the conference and help them grow in MUN. I am looking forward to all the meaningful debates and creative solutions, and I am honored to be a chair in SHAMUN XXII. I look forward to seeing you all in October!”

“Welcome to SHAMUN XXII. My name is Alex and I will be serving as your chair in the Historic Security Council. I am greatly excited to chair such an interesting and dynamic committee, being an avid history fan myself it is an opportunity I could have not passed up on. I joined MUN at the beginning of the last school year and since then it has become a great interest of mine. I now have attended 5 conferences ranging from SHAMUN XXI to HMUN China just recently, I look forward to attending many more in the future both as a delegate and chair.

Attending any MUN is a great opportunity to develop a wide range of skills from collaboration, negotiation and public speaking all while addressing real world challenges. Coming to SHAMUN XXII will prove to be a rewarding experience, I encourage you all to seize this opportunity and make the most out of it. “

  • Deputy President

    William W.

“Hello! I’m William, a senior at Suzhou Singapore International School. It is my honor to serve as a chair of the Historical Security Council. I’ve been involved in MUN since G8, and I’ve recently hosted SUZMUN X as the Secretary-General. Historical Security Council is an exciting opportunity because offers us a unique perspective to look back on past events and crises. The Gulf War and U2 Incident during the Cold War are events that played a key role in shaping modern history. I invite you all, as delegates, to immerse yourself in these past events. But since we have the added benefit of hindsight, consider how you may react differently to these events to reshape history and find unity in a divided world. I look forward to meeting everyone at SHAMUN, and I wish you all a very rewarding experience. Feel free to reach out to me or my co-chairs if you have any questions about the committee :)”
