Disarmament Commission

President Chairs

  • Allison W. - Deputy President

    Welcome delegates!

My name is Allison, and I am honored to serve as deputy president of the disarmament committee in SHAMUN XXIII.

I am an eighth grader at Hangzhou International School and have participated in Model United Nations for the past three years. I have attended several conferences these past years, including West Lake MUN, SUZMUN, and GSMUN. For this conference, I will be focusing on the topic of ensuring the security of information and telecommunications in the context of international security. To new delegates, don’t be scared! Everyone has their first MUN experience and feels the same way.

I encourage all delegates to speak, challenge themselves and think critically throughout the conference. I look forward to seeing you all soon!

  • Chloe T. - President

    Delegates and esteemed guests,

Welcome to SHAMUN's Disarmament Commission. My name is Chloe, a senior at Shanghai American School Puxi, and it is my honor to serve as President of the commission. SHAMUN XXIII will be my fourth conference, I hope to help and explore the topic of promoting multilateralism in the area of nuclear disarmament and proliferation with both new and returning delegates. I would encourage delegates to challenge their current assumptions and think critically throughout the course of the conference, allowing for fruitful debates on our topics.

I look forward to seeing you all soon.

  • Millie L. - Deputy President

    Hey, y’all!

I am Millie, a sophomore at Shanghai American School Puxi Campus (SASPX) - I am incredibly honored to have this opportunity to serve as your Vice President of the Disarmament Committee in SHAMUN XXIII, focusing on the issue of establishing strengthened conventions development, production, and regulation of biological and toxin weapons.

My first MUN conference dates way back to 2017 in Beijing, where I started to develop my knowledge and passion for MUN, and SHAMUN this year would be the 9th conference of my MUN career. I hope that through this year’s SHAMUN conference, all of the delegates in our committee would be able to expand their knowledge on the topics discussed through compelling debates brought by the topics and engage in this chance to write resolutions with a large and diverse pool of other delegates. I also hope that the three days we will spend together as one committee can be a trailing memory that can be remembered and learned from as a new step to the rest of your MUN career.

Hope to see all of you at the conference!
